Emoji Copy and Paste

Search every emoji by name or meaning and copy it in one click. All 9 Unicode groups, from smileys to flags, with no sign-up. Free, in your browser.

How it works

Each emoji comes with an official name from the Unicode emoji list and a set of keywords from the Unicode CLDR project. The search shows an emoji when every word you type appears in its name or keywords (capitals do not matter), or when you paste the emoji itself. Whole-word matches in the name come first, then whole-word matches in the keywords, then partial matches, and short names before long ones. This page lists all of them, in the order of the Unicode list, grouped by category. Click or tap an emoji to copy it. Emoji with skin tone variants are listed once, in the standard form.

Example: type “heart” to see ❤️ red heart first, then other hearts. Type “pizza” to find 🍕, or paste an emoji to find itself.

Frequently asked questions

How do I copy and paste an emoji?

Click or tap the emoji. It is copied to your clipboard and its name appears above the list. Then paste it where you want it with Ctrl+V, Cmd+V or a long press on your phone.

How does the search work?

Type one or more words. An emoji is shown when every word appears in its official name or in its keywords. Whole-word matches come first, so “heart” lists ❤️ red heart before words that only contain “heart” inside them.

Why does an emoji look different on my phone?

The Unicode standard defines what each emoji means, not how it is drawn. Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung and others each draw their own versions, so the same emoji can look different in different apps and on different devices.

Why do some emoji show as an empty box?

The emoji is newer than the software that displays it. Update the system, or use an older emoji. The box is a display limit of the device, not a copying problem.

Are skin tone variants included?

No. The list has the standard version of each emoji. On a phone keyboard, press and hold a hand or person emoji to choose a skin tone, or paste the standard emoji and change it there.

Is my search sent to a server?

Search runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
